Our new councillors wasted no time once elected and got to work on their first project and and a great job they did of it! They organised a food collection for the local foodbank at Urban Outreach. Our councillors were blown away with the generosity of our community! There were so many non-perishable goods donated that Urban Outreach needed to organise a large van to come and collect it!
School council have also made a few changes this year by introducing three sub-committees with special responsibilities :
- Leisure – making sure that playtimes and lunchtimes are the best they can be for everyone
- Behaviour and Safety – making sure that school is the safest place that it can be
- Health and Wellbeing – making sure that everyone in school is the best person that they can be
The newly formed Behaviour and Safety Committee have already supported our Anti-Bullying Week ‘Make a Noise about Bullying’ by leading an assembly and working with Mrs Briggs on ideas to improve our Anti-Bullying policy.
The Lesiure Committee with be working on a project with Mrs Graham to improve resources and playtime/ lunchtime provision across the school.
The Wellbeing Committee with be supporting the newly introduced Mindful Mondays/Wellbeing Wednesdays and the recruitment of some Wellbeing Champions for school.
